This was an iconic Irish film, set in Dublin. The music was pure soul, with a Dublin twist ;):

Dublin Northside; Chicago Southside. Great flick. :)

(Flash Forward to the Present)

When Lisa of Celtic Woman sings I Am The Voice, Erin herself speaks to the world.
And most eloquently. :) :eusa_clap

I love this film! Plus, the rest of the Barrytown trilogy: the Snapper and the Van. The Snapper is my favorite of the three, even if it's lacking the rockin soundtrack.... WATCH IT! :D

Have you seen the Snapper? I enjoyed Colm Meaney's character so much in that one, I wasn't emotionally prepared to let go and let him play a different role in the Van! lol

He was hilarious in that one. There are (were) lots of guys here like that! The whole story is great.

Incidentally, this is Glen Hansard, red hair with guitar in the above picture (now an Oscar winner for "Once").... I met him on Grafton street Christmas eve, he did a surprise last minute busking session with Bono. It was fun!
