There HAVE to be people here who love MST3K as much as I do. Yes?

I recently ran across some quotes that got me laughing out loud. Here are some of my favorites.

From The Deadly Mantis:

[The movie opens with a review of North American defense monitoring stations.]
Narrator: Another radar fence stretches across the long, unfortified border between the United States and Canada…
Servo [as Narrator]: Canada, our mortal enemy.
Narrator: … the Pine Tree Radar Fence.
Mike [as Narrator]: The natural radar of pine trees protects our northern borders.

From Space Mutiny:

[Ryder and Lea jump into an "Enforcer" (resembling a bowling alley floor-polisher) to chase bad-guy Kalgan. ]
Mike: Jeez, you could walk on your hands and catch up to the guy.
Crow [as Ryder]: Put your helmet on, we'll be reaching speeds of three!

From Overdrawn at the Memory Bank:

[Inside Fingal's virtual world, sim-Apollonia argues with Fingal about his "romance" with a simulated co-worker.]
Apollonia: If this one-handed exercise is all you can think of to do with your life…
Crow: Whoa!
Apollonia: … you're a very little man, and I'm very disappointed in you!
Servo: Is this still the officially sanctioned "boring" part?
Mike: Filmed in "Soap Opera-vision."
Fingal: It's a good thing we don't have to like each other, because you're definitely not my kind of woman!
[Apollonia slaps him.]
Crow [as Fingal]: Well, now you are, actually.

From The Final Sacrifice:

Mike: Rowsdowermobile, away!
Servo: And together they fought crime throughout Southwestern Alberta!

Pipper: McGreggor? Troy McGreggor? … Thomas's son?
Troy: Yeah! Did you know him?
Servo [as Pipper]: Know him? He was delicious!

What are some of your favorite episodes or lines?

Got anything I can put my leg up on?

One of the writers from MST3K is going to be in Austin performing with a local like-minded movie spoof show at the Alamo Drafthouse. I'm tempted to go...even though I don't care for the local dudes.

I LOVE MST3K.

In fact, I have copies of most of the "Season 0" KTMA Minneapolis episodes.

I haven't watched the show in a long time, I should dig some of those episodes up again this winter. Whenever you watched a MST3K movie, it was like watching a movie with good friends every time.

I've loved the few I've seen. And much prefer Joel over Mike.

Gotta rent some soon.

I'm a Joel fan myself, but probably because I started with him.

He did a great pilot show for HBO a few years ago called "The TV Wheel."
It was a incredibly original & funny sketch comedy show.

One of my favorite episodes was the one that featured the short film, "Home Economics at Iowa State University," Which is where I went to college myself.

They really ripped into that 1950s film. My instructor in a video field production class once told us that he showed that MST3K airing of the film to a meeting in the journalism department... and low and behold, the original director of the film was there. He didn't find it so humorous, heh heh.

i like them equally! the show did go through a lot of changes, but i don't think i'm as hardcore of a fan as some because...it never bothered me. i like everyone...although tv's frank always held a special place in my heart. lol

Am I a fan of MST3K? Not much...

(Title card) A Date With Your Family
(Bots) The Woody Allen Story!

"Emotions are for ethnic people"

"Every frame of this film looks like somebody's last known photograph"

"Look, look, look at my crotch! Look, look, look at my crotch! LOOOOOOOOK at my crotch!"

"Tom, I don't get you."
"Nobody does, baby. I'm the wind."

“My plan is workin’, you WILL die! Oh, can I have your room?”

"Wanna piece of milk?"

"If my deepest, darkest despair had choreography, this is how it would look."

Joel is my favorite too--he was so sweet. And I love Dr. Clayton Forrester! The theme kicks too;

"If you're wondering how he eats and breathes
and other science facts (la la la),
Then repeat to yourself, "It's just a show,
and you should just relax"
For Mystery Science Theater 3000!"

I really miss waking up and watching MST3K on Saturday mornings. It was such a pleasure to stay in bed in my jammies and watch it.

I'm tempted to start a game to see if the fellow MST3K nerds ;) out there can guess the movie a quote is from. This one's from one of my all-time favorite episodes:

"How do you like your scotch?"
"By the quart and with a ding dong floating in it."

"I like my family as a friend."

Some of the best laughs are from the shorts they did. I love the wood shop one that they did (I can't remember the name of it though.)

Another favorite has to to be Eegah with Arch Hall Jr.

(On a side note - my husband & I met Arch Hall Jr. last year - he looks pretty much the same and has all that hair still! Hubby's band got to play a show with Arch & The Archers. :) )

I love MST3K so much, I can't even stand it sometimes :D

So, has anyone checked out The Film Crew? Basically the same premise as MST3K with Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett, and Kevin Murphy doing commentary.

I remember hearing about this a long time ago and being really excited, but then it fell off my radar as things tend to do. This thread made me remember it and I stuck a couple of the Film Crew movies in my Netflix queue - including one with Rue McClanahan starring as a stripper! It'll be interesting to see how they compare.

I had to look up the movie.

"Sidehackers" from the 2nd season.

J.C. (antagonist) - "Where's Rommel?" (the hero)

Tom Servo - "Have you checked Algeria?"
