I don't know about this one. I watched this movie a few times. I liked the movie but I don't know about Dan Duryea wearing this hat. "Along Came Jones", (1945), with Gary Cooper, Dan Duryea, and Loretta Young. Good light hearted Western and worth the watch.

Dan Duryea play a lot of interesting characters....one of my favorites is in "Winchester 73". I have this poster framed along with signatures of Jimmy, Dan and Shelley.
Good hats in that movie too.....

That signed poster would be something to have! That was a real good Western too.

Yes I love the clothing in these films. Even the bad guys usually have cool outfits!

An old favorite, "Gaslight" 1944, Gothic Noir, very atmospheric

Not too many hats here, but some interesting stiff felts (a light color Cambridge bowler amongst them) and toppers, as appropriate for the era

That was an excellent movie, and you can't beat the cast! Have you seen the original 1940 British version? It was equally as good as the '44 version, maybe a bit spookier. They sometimes show the original on TCM but the full movie version is also on YouTube. It's definitely well worth watching and comparing the two versions. I like both. Also a nice collection of period fashion and stiff felted hats.

It's been a while since I last saw the British version, can't really recall how it compares to the Hollywood's remake. The mise-en-scene on this latter one is mind blowing. Thanks for the tip, Terry! I'll definatelly check them side-by-side

Both versions were done really well. Even after comparing the two it's difficult to decide which one is better. The '44 version has the much better known cast of great Hollywood actors, but the lesser known British cast are equally as good in the '40 version. For me, I give just the very slightest edge to the earlier British version because it seems just a little spookier. The cast, the script, the acting, the period fashion of both versions are equally done well, although the camera work and lighting seems a little better in the '44 version to me, classic noir 'like'. Both are very well worth a watch.

Shadow of a Doubt for sure is definitely worth watching! That one's pretty intense! Excellent Hitchcock noir.

Also, The Third Man is well worth watching. Classic noir camera work and excellent use of shadows and angles. Also with Joseph Cotton and with Orson Wells.

When you think of film noir you immediately envision a dark gritty detective story from the 1940s. Evidently there's also 'Western Noir'

Blood on the Moon, (1948), a Western noir with Robert Mitchum and Babara Bel Geddes. I loved that movie! A lot of nice Western hats in that one, especially the one Nitchum was wearing.

"Dead End" (1937) with Humphrey Bogart, Alan Jenkins, and Joel McCrea...also with the "Dead End Kids" who later became the "Bowery Boys". Great movie. Nice hats from the later 1930s. I actually like Alan Jenkins hats the best in this movie.
