I liked it. Thought of as a thinking man's film as was most of Jim Jarmusch's films at that time. I have it on DVD, watch it a couple times a yr & always come up with a different interpretation of what I think it all means. And I really like Neil Young's sound track he laid down. I have tried really hard to learn to play the theme song but have trouble with his hammer strum he puts in a lot of his music.

Yes, it did have a good soundtrack. I may have to watch it again.

Normally I prefer a soundtrack that's more "period correct", but Young's guitar work for the Dead Man soundtrack is brilliant and really helps to create a dreamlike/nightmarish atmosphere for the movie.

I liked it so much that I bought the soundtrack on CD, but was disappointed when I played it the first time to discover what sounded like a car engine superimposed over most of the music. It was like listening to a recording of someone listening to the soundtrack while they were driving around town. I don't know it it was intentional or accidental, but I was so upset that I put the CD aside and never listened to it again. I still love the movie though.

Ha! That's also been one of my favorites since I was a kid, and I never noticed that hat before. Fonda was really perfect in that role.
