Mountain khakis - anyone tried these?

Yeah, they're.... okay. I find the waist to be a little low for my taste. Orvis carries them in their store here and I tried 'em on once. Didn't buy.

I like the waist in Bills Khakis better, if you're talking about off the rack.

I have three pair. One is the Utility pant - not really for banging around town wear and two of the original Mountain pant. I'd call them a medium rise - lower than Bills but not so low you have to "hitch" them all the time. I find them very comfortable and they wear like iron. The canvas is pretty heavy so when the temps get in toe 80's they stay in the closet. My next pair will be the Teton Twills.

They are exceptionally well made, extremely comfortable and they wear like iron. I wear the Utility pant when I am grouse hunting and every time I put them on they feel even better.

If you are looking for vintage - these aren't, but they are worth the money.
