So I just picked up this hat that I thought had a nice of personality to it. But It's got a nip right on the very front edge of the brim.... any suggestions?!

Not sure if Art is still working on vintage hats or only making new ones now? It would be well worth it to send to him, maybe he can match the binding from his collection of vintage ribbon stock.

Well, you could add a second nip with nail clippers, at a point where symmetry would be restored...

Seriously, I feel you pain or at least very mild discomfort. Somehow, I can't see a president saying "I feel your mild discomfort." So thinking about this, and reflecting on the cost of having the binding replaced entirely, I would be tempted, if in your position, to see if I could find a fine thread in a color that would be an exact match. And armed with a very small needle, I might see if I couldn't disguise it. This depends a lot on your experience with sewing, with fine work, and the exact nature of the Lepidopterid depredations. If done neatly under the right conditions, this might be almost hard to notice. Maybe!

You're the first person I've seen here post a picture wearing a fedora with a plain t-shirt. Glad to see it. I do it all the time. Also, that hat reminds me a lot of a Champ that I had. The brim binding was an almost blue-green, though, which I didn't like very much, so I auctioned it off. What is yours?
