I am getting ready to order a Baracuta jacket and I've narrowed it down to three colors: dark navy, british tan, and natural. If I had to choose one today, it would probably be British tan, but I wanted to get opinions from the Lounge. What was the original color? My wardrobe is 40's/50's. Thanks!

I have navy, but used to have british tan and prefer the tan. I wear the jacket casually, with jeans, and the tan works best with jeans. I do find myself wearing the navy with nicer outfits, often based around gray wool pants.

I purchased a dark navy one last month.
Dark blue is a very versatile color. It can be worn with other dark colors, light tans, blue jeans, etc.
Some links to the Film Jacket Forum, threads about the jackets Daniel Craig wore in "Quantum of Solace" with screen shots.
The first one, dark blue jacket with light/white jeans;

The second, dark blue "Harrington" style jacket with blue jeans;

Very stylish either way.

Is the navy the only color appropriate for khakis? I wear a lot of light tan Dickies. Thanks.

I wear khakis all the time and I wear a Navy and a British Tan Baracuta and I can assure you that the tan looks great.

Also, if you are going to ever wear anything under the jacket like a heavy sweater or a hoodie, then I would definitely recommend sizing up 1 size.

In theory, yes.... though really if it's cold enough to want to wear more than a shirt underneath it, I wouldn't be suggesting a G9 style to begin with.

Thanks for your help. I think I'll go dark navy and then maybe add a British tan jacket later. As for sizing, I wear a 44 jacket and they recommend ordering your jacket size. I'm 6'2", but they say the sleeve length is generous.
