I've always wanted a pair of Monk Strap shoes, similar to the ones my Grandfather's wearing here (sorry about the dark photo):

Any suggestions where I might find such a pair?

Thanks,

The photo's dark, so I can't tell precisely, but do they have a cap toe as well in the pic?

There are plenty of monk strap shoes these days, but the modern toe shape is all wrong - either square toed or pointy, neither is right.

Jake,

I did a bit of work in Photoshop...not sure if it will help, but the shoe does appear to have a cap toe to me.

I'm not a fan of monk straps, but a pair like these could change my mind. Nice shoes! Good luck with your search.

BROWN Monk Strap Shoes

Hey this might help you a bit. These are the ones I own. They are brown leather and have the monk straps. I'm not a huge fan of the soles of the shoes but they fit awesome and are a pair of my favorite shoes. They are make by a US company called Dockers, yes the same company who makes the Khaki pants.

For a really nice monkstrap I'd go English, although it ain't cheap:

Vintage Florsheim Monks-

These are my $12 eBargains-

I'm guessing that this style would fit the bill Jake-?
I think these are the 'classic' vintage style you require... toe shape and all-

So maybe I'm just offering you an example of what to look for...

Those are pretty much exactly what I am looking for Martin, thanks - now I at least have a clearer photo to compare to!

Maybe some detail - a top view of the toe shape, a good shot of the heel - all this would be useful.

Thanks so much!
