It was so meticulously costumed. The period tux that James McAvoy wears is impeccable pay close attention to the top of where the sleves are stitched to the shoulders this is a detail I have only seen in my vintage catalogs. And the green dress Keira knightley wears in that same sequence is beyond amazing. also little details like the items on McAvoy's toiletry table when he is getting ready. It is like a period film in vivid color with a giant magnifying glass on every period detail... to people like us who watch for that stuff, but not in a bad way and it doesn't detract from the story.

I just saw a movie from Taiwan called Blood Brothers (Tian tang kou) that had amazing Golden Era costumes and sets. The movie itself was an average gangster flic set in 1930's Shanghai, but the costumes alone were worth the price of admission.

Public Eye (find on VHS if you can. Never released on DVD)
