I posted about these over a year ago...I found a pair at a Neiman Marcus outlet store...for $400!! Yes..that was the OUTLET price!!:kick:
They were beautiful, yes, but for a pair of every day trousers.......definitely out of MY price range!

At retail, Oxxford trousers start at $400(including MTM) and can go much higher, the pair you bought probably retailed for $1000 and must be wonderful. Oxxford can be found on Ebay, both new and pre-owned, on a regular basis. I know of people who have picked up mint Oxxford suits for under $150 and trousers for much less.

I'm 16, so I have found that buying pants a size up gives sufficient crotch rise and bagginess for a vintage collegiate look. I have had luck with Nautica- I have a pair of corduroys, khaki twill, and a navy cotton/wool blend that all hit at my belly button with this method. Since I wear a 28 or 29 inch waist, the size 30 waist fits with just a little room in the waist (which is fine with braces). The benefit of living in Asia is that they hem the length for you right in the department, and you can pick it up in 15 minutes- I just pull them up high, they mark it, hem it, and voila!

I remember that post! Hoping for a link to the $2 sale :)

Just picked up a pair of high waisted pants at the thrift shop today for two bucks! (it was 50% off men clothes today) They are made under the Nordstrom label in Hong Kong, 100% wool with braces buttons and front lined to just below the knees. Double pleated front waist and double button thru back pocket flaps using metal encased black buttons.

Kind of a vintage checker board pattern, not black and not brown, but somewhere in between. They do have belt loops, however. Mulling over removing them or just leaving them on. Also thinking of putting on a wide cuff at they have no cuff but plenty of material left.

Y'all should dig through the Ralph Lauren outlets for marked-down RRL pants. They produced a wide variety of high-waisted bucklebacked pants that cut the mustard good enough.

What doeas RRL stand for?
Well, you'd actually call them "Double R L", so like as if it was the name of a ranch. The logo even looked like it was "branded" on the leather patch of the jeans.

Here are a pair of new Rocacha trousers - Hollywood waist, dropped loops, twin pleats and turn-ups:

Those look super. Where to find?

I noticed in the Suit thread that you'd found details, and there's a link in my first post on this thread as well. I've got another pair on the way in a lightweight pale cream wool, in exactly the same style, so I'll put up photos of those as well when I get them. I went for a fitting a few weeks ago so they should be ready later this week, or early next week.

Those do look good, Salv. The belt-loops appear as if they are in the correct place. Very nice, indeed! ;)

Rob at Rocacha uses an original 40s pattern for the trousers, so they're probably as accurate as it's possible to get these days.
