Modern "high waisted" trousers?

There was an interesting thread recently about some high-waisted trousers made from vintage patterns... however as I'm not about to undertake that task, I figured I'd ask if anyone knows of any modern-made trousers that are high-waisted, that basically approximate the look of vintage wear?

I'm in London, so ordering out of Eddie Bauer would be a bit of a pain if they didn't fit!

There were some great looking threads apparent during the London FL get together, so I am sure there is something to be found here in London - I just don't know where to look!

This weekend I'm going to see if I can't track down some vintage in my size, but if I'm not able to at least it is a comfort to know that there is something still being made that will fit the bill.

Cheers!

My favourite new trousers are made by Rocacha Tailoring in South Kensington. The suit I wore to the Lounge dinner was from there, so you'll have some idea of how their trousers look. Mine were the peg style, basically the same as the Zoot, but with a high plain waist rather than the high fishtail. I didn't have brace buttons, but they can put them in if you want. Mine were 100% worsted, but they do polyester trousers for ?Ǭ£70.00, wool/poly mix for ?Ǭ£85.00 and pure wool starting at ?Ǭ£95.00. They have several plain and pin-striped patterns mentioned on the Ordering page but they also have a huge range of other fabrics. They don't have a shop but you can call to make an appointment to view the other fabrics, and discuss your exact requirements. They've been in business since 1980 and I still have a few of their suits, trousers and shirts that I bought in the 80's.

If you want something a bit more functional take a look at the High Rise trousers from Tin House in Norfolk

I started a thread about Old Town/Tin House here that has links to their web sites, and more pictures. They're based in Norfolk, but they are showing their clothes in London this weekend - details on the other thread.

I gave them a ring and it turns out that they're showing their clothes near Spitalfields (3 Fournier Street actually - just across the street), which is a mere 10 minute walk from where I work. I headed over there during lunch, but it appears that they were still unloading their van.

Pretty cool...

I have 4 pairs of rock-a cha high waisted zoot style pants. Two of those I had custom made because I didn?Ǭ¥t like the way the leg tapers on the zoot pants.
So two pairs I have with a wide leg and they look killer diller. The fabric is ok if you take into account the fact that it is modern fabric. The quality and the detail is great. I agree, high waist pants look great but you gotta get the bum right otherwise the pants will end up looking strange.....

My Bill's Khakis in the M1P style sit at my belly button and leave plenty of LBJ Space in the boiler room.

I agree. I have the plain front button fly M1s, and they definitely do not fit like a cheap hotel. :icon_smil

Cheers!

What about US-based companies that offer high-waisted trousers? I know EB, but are there any others?

Oxxford offers high rise trousers with a "Hollywood" waist, they are arguably the finest made trousers available today, OTR or bespoke. Handmade in Chicago since 1914.

I have heard this company mentioned several times around here. It sounds like you guys are pleased with them. There is a store near here that has them. Are the 8.5 cotton the pick of the litter?

The wool twills are best, but really pricey. So yes, the 8.5 cotton are great.
I wore mine today and got several compliments. They really are great, and at times you can catch a sale (or do eBay, where they are common and half price or so.) They're probably the closest thing to vintage high-waisted trousers (until I get mine done.)
