Modern "Grizzly" Jackets?

For the price of the Himel you probably could fly to Greece, visit Theodoros, get fit in person, pay for a jacket, hang out for a few days then go home.
I won't have an opportunity to fly to Thessaloniki this year but I will probably ask Theodoros to send some leather and cow fur samples.

A couple pics of my Himel Grizzly:

I love this jacket so much. I think it's super cool. That said, I will definitely not argue against a Thedi. I love the Thedi designs. The Himel is certainly a lot more expensive and how much it is worth it is up to you. For the record, while I love hair on hide grizzlies, I don't really like mouton fur grizzlies in general.

With a closer look at the various style Grizzlies I think your Himel is my favorite design dude. Does look much better than mouton.

Thanks! It's obviously my favorite haha :D I'm definitely not into mouton grizzlies.

Agreed. To my eye, and of course t's only my opinion, but Mysteryo's and Dude's Himels look a lot more stylish and not too over-the-top hairy beastie things (don't you love my technical terminology there?). I'm not a grizzly person but if I was, that short hair style that's not too ostentatious would be what I'd get.

Very accurate terminology :)
To me, grizzlies are already quite "out there" so mouton is just too much for me, though I have seen a couple of people pull it off well. I know it doesn't quite make sense, but the hair on hide grizzlies are to me, the "conservative" grizzlies :D

Just in from Stu - black 3oz HH base. Was really great to work with and I’m definitely happy with the end result.
Thanks for the pics. I think it looks better than the site pictures.
The thing that prevented me from ordering one is not being able to get HH leather panels underneath the fur panels. I was not sure how the mouton panels would hold over time / are able to balance the tensions from the HH panels.
This is doable as I got a custom made Grizzly style from a local tailor. Not so faithful to the original but close and the way I wanted it.

Hunting around to ID a jacekt posted on here yesterday I see Belstaff have a Grizzly out in their line up this year.

I wonder if this means we'll see a bunch of these coming out this season.

Meeeeh, it looks too "clean", like a summer buzz cut teddy bear.
IMO if you are going to wear a grizzly you should commit and go full floof!

Yeah, it does look too a bit too tame I think, and that was the best looking photo of it. Would be interesting if a few other brands put some out, he said with one eye on next years sales.

I'm with MrProper, I think they are super cool but I don't know if I'd wear one - So I'd have to find one cheapish to gamble on it. Kind of regret not ordering the one Simon James Cathcart did a couple of years back.

I was like you, wanted one but convinced i would never wear it, i was lucky to find one on eBay for a good deal and it has been one of my most worn winter jacket ever since.
I felt like a lunatic wearing it for the first time, you definitely get a lot of weird looks, but i would still highly recommend a grizzly to anyone.

Over the years, my view of grizzlies has evolved from one of absurdity to that of admiration. I’ve had in mind to get one custom made by either Aero or Simmons Bilt, but this one by Mister Freedom has struck my eye, and they’re currently on sale.

I rather like this in the Cossack style even though my original intention was to have one made in a more traditional rendering. Are any of you familiar with the leather that Mister Freedom uses? It’s described as 2-3oz “custom vegetable tanned tea-core black leather with a black topcoat over natural-color.” I rather like a variation of this in natural cowhide, too.

In 2019 I picked up an Aero leather Grizzly
Leather colour: Seal Jerky Horsehide
Fur Colour: Dark Brown
Zippers: Antique Brass
Collar: Fur
For the past 7 years, I have wanted a Grizzly but was too shy to buy one. The main reason was, I was nervous about wearing such a bold statement jacket. The second reason was, I am a man that is above average size. I stand at 6'4'' and 270 pounds.

I would tuck the shirt in, but otherwise you totally pull it off!! I’m shy cause I’m the opposite. I’m 5’7 and 135lbs. I’m afraid it would look like the jacket is wearing me haha.
