I do have an idea about Teague's M1 carbine, though...we'll see next week if I'm right...

Aye, the sawn-off was typically over-the-top, but that's pretty much a well worn trope at this point so I'd have been more surprised if it didn't send the guy through the wall.

Its always nice to see the lovely M1 Carbine get some screen time.

I wonder if your idea about the M-1 Carbine is the same as mine.....being used in a famous hit on a mobster....Will have to wait and see on Wednesday.

Well, the foreshaowing with the M1 carbine turned out to be on target(pun intended); from what I can gather the hit on Bugsy was pretty accurate, although the actuall first two shots came last in the show, obviuosly for dramatic effect, and the actual gunman was closer, with his carbine rested on something. IIRC, that was in Beverly Hills, so I doubt LAPD would have showed up...
Yes, there are a lot more episodes to tell: the mole insdie LAPD, the attempts on Cohen's life,etc. I hope they get told...

I really enjoyed Mob City. It's a nice blend of fact and fiction, and compared to the super-rich color of many recent attempts at 1940s Los Angeles, I thought this version was more down-to-earth than most. I also have been able to keep track of the storyline and who's who, which sometimes in gangster pictures is a difficult feat. I am hoping that TNT picks this up as a series, because I would definitely watch it!

It was good enough, but I don't think it was great by any means. The technical side was better than the creative. The story was rather lazy, and I think the characters could have been more interesting and complex.

I concur. I liked it, but thought it was too "by the numbers". If it got greenlit as a series, I think I'd grow bored with it fairly quickly.

Same thought here, it seems like they were looking to turn it into a series and that this was the sole purpose of this series. Wait and see but I bet we see it as a series soon!

I'm not the expert many here are, but the trousers were almost all too low-waisted, it seemed to me.

And the music choices were lazy and anachronistic. I like Sinatra as much as the next guy or gal, but he's not the only recording artist who existed in the 1940s and '50s. Not to mention (ok, I'll mention it) that they used some of his early 1960s recordings for a show set in the late '40s.

I know it's a different decade and locale, but for my money, MC is not even in the same ballpark, quality-wise, as BOARDWALK EMPIRE.

Just caught the first episode last night. I enjoyed it, but agree that it has a long way to go before I think I'd be hooked on it the way I was with The Walking Dead. Time will tell....
