[Jacket received new 6/26/20]

Third day after sun tanning:

Day 4 after sun tanning and a gentle wipe-down with a damp microfiber cloth:

The Campus accumulated about 16 to 18 hours of sunbathing before the water treatment with a damp cloth. The hide was barely damp but consistent in coverage. While drying, I wore it to form the arm creases and to bring out the incredible grains. Just barely starting the break-in.

I’ll continue to post evolution pics here.

@Powerband do you still wear this one? If so, how's it doing now?

Sorry for the delayed response—I just woke up from my nap. It’s just getting cooler in the California evenings so I took this out for fun and games at dinner time. It’s aging steadily but moving forward it will age faster as it’ll be out in the sun more often. Loving this one to death.

Lookin good! Here it almost appears to have a cafe au lait tone...very nice.

I find these really compelling, my only concern is the idea of having to work it too much. The more I see, it seems like once you get past the starting pale / pinkish tones it looks nice all the way.

I think the pictured one is only about 5 years old...many coats of Pecards and days in the sun created the look. Definitely a great result.

This from the Vintage Engineer Boots guy?

Also I wonder if there’s ever a point at which you’d try to use wax or preservative? not sure what, to stop the process.

9-year lifespan. Beyond that you put the heifer in the meat grinder for the dinner table. Joking aside, maybe a coat of wax may be good to slow the aging process? That and taking care not to drag it in the dirt and avoid wearing it while digging ditches.

I’m afraid that If I wore this type of jacket that the Left arm would look beautiful, while the rest would be a mish-mash of tones tanning only indirectly through the windshield and passenger window.
