Nothing classic / vintage style culture about that. *shrug* Somewhat interesting nonetheless, although not all that surprising.

Sorry this shouldve been in the NEWS forum, not EVENTS.

Its really a reference to her appearance on Project Runway where they designed a gown for her.

Its news as Trump may announce 'Ya Fired!' to her. As he did to a previous MissUsa.

It might not be 'surprising' for you, but to others it is. She isnt jsut a celebrity, she's a reigning winner, so she has clauses & obligations in her contract that preclude her from running wild.

Just gonna point out its an AP news story, that ran with an AP photo, that's a promotional photo of the contestant in the MissUniverse contest as she was the current MissUSA.
Not trash from FHM.
Semantics? ;) I read about the recent Brittany Spears controversy from the AP, but that does not make it newsworthy.
I don't know how Project Runway, Donald Trump, or the obligations of a Miss USA contest is relevant to The Fedora Lounge, but if everyone is game, I will play along.
Some would argue Project Runway is as trashy as FHM. It is all relative.

What did she do? What are the issues? When someone in a news report says "I can't talk about it" gee, that's not news. FHM is trashy? Wow, my hubby liked the issues I passed on to him. Should I have read them first?

I suffered through the press conference. She has a drinking problem, "personal problems" and got caught up in the whirlwind New York City lifestyle.

Translation, she was getting drunk, probably also doing drugs and sleeping around. That is okay if you are a model, but Miss USA also has to be a role model.

She promises that she'll be a good girl from here on out.

Why do you think he bought the pagent? Duh.

He has an obsession with beautiful (but only if they are very fit) women. I would be creeped out by it, but I know that I am too old and not fit enough to ever be a candidate for his creepiness.

I have NO understanding of his obsession. It seems so odd to me. ;)

Beautiful and fit, I can handle. Trouble is, I have a low boredom threshold, so "Not boring" trumps (no pun intended) everything else. :)

Okay gents, here's what I've gathered from my years reading about his women.

They have to be young, and beautiful. Okay I get that. Young could be a desirable trait, ditto beauty.

Then he obsesses over the minutiae of their physiques. He is looking for absolute fitness perfection. No fatties, and they need to be thin, but with perfect muscle development. Their bodies can't have any flaws. That is a little weird. I mean if you like someone who happens to be perfect, great. But needing it? I can appreciate if someone has a great body, but it is always about the total package, right? Or am I totally off base.

They could be very interesting women, he doesn't have a problem with that. I don't think being exceptionally intelligent would be a problem at all. They could even be weird or obnoxious maybe, since it is all about how they look.

This could all be b.s. for all I know, as all of this information is second or third hand, from ladies magazines (years of casual reading, going back to Ivanna).

Anyway, back to Miss USA, she's a pretty girl. What would she look like in vintage wear? I'm thinking pretty good. ;)
