Mission Impossible 3

I've always loved these movies (even as unbelievable as they may be) but, the third one was disappointing. It was too mushy for me...I wanted action!!!!!
Has anyone else seen this?

You see, I have this thing about remakes....they just don't sit right with me

Despite how nutty Cruise has become about Scientology in public (though no wars were ever started in the name of L. Ron Hubbard), I really like MI3.

I was an Alias fan and thought JJ Abrahms brought the same kind of style to MI3. At least, it was more of a "team" mission unlike the first two where it nothing but a big Cruise-fest. JJ captured more of what made the series so much fun.

A fun fact about the first Mission movie - Cruise wanted to have the old stars (like Peter Graves, Martin Laundu, Barbara Bain) appear in their MI characters so they could be killed off one-by-one. It would indicate that Cruise is now the living symbol of MI and the past is dead. Thankfully, all of the old cast told him to go get stuffed.

The MI formula has been one of pure non-stop entertainment for the sake of it. We need to sometime simply be entertained and escape to a movie like this forgetting all else. There is obviously a need for action for action's sake movies. They immerse you if you allow it and you don't need to dissect them like a wanna-be film critic.

I think my favortie was M1,M2 was great as well but M3, just didn't seem like the 'normal' mission impossible-and the ending! ugh. One thing I find kind of amusing about these kind of movies is you know how guys are getting kicked in the head? And usually by other guys with boots, yet they get right back up virtually unfazed! I can help but cring whenever I see it, but think, ok, if that was me, I'd be down for the count, and even if I wasnt'...I think I'd just stay down

Hey, it's the same reason Neo's back can never break after being slammed into a concrete wall a total of 3,456 times in the course of the Matrix trilogy.

It's like those people don't bleed! I've seen SO many action flicks where people are getting punched and kicked in the face...and maybe have a scratch to show for it...they've got, like, super skin or something
(although, if it was like reality, the movie wouldn't last very long!)
car scenes; also something I think is amusing....no matter what, they've got to explode! What's with this guy thing with fire anyways? The one movie I DO love that has cars in it is 'Gone in 60 seconds'.

One of my friends vowed that when he starts making movies, people will show damage in a fight. Let's see how long it takes him to forget that.

If you like seeing damage from a fight, check out the new 007 flick, Casino Royale. People are calling Daniel Craig "The Bond Who Bleeds."
You cringe when his manjunk is being beaten and he even nearly dies from poison. Intense!

Bond; I think that's one of the reasons why I really liked that movie is because it was believable!.
Nows the time that's perfect for going for the real 'bashed out' look...it's amazing what special effects and make-up tricks that are available today. I love looking through MK's magazine's (Make-up artist)... his cover on 'Pan's Labryth' impressed me the most I think. I still haven't seen the movie, but I'm betting the effects are phenomenol.

Seen it. Loved it. Not perfect, but I'm hoping it'll get better. After all, Dr. No wasn't either but it definitely got people interested and the next movie was even better. On a sartorial note, the wardrobe in this was much better than the previous films with Brosnan where Bond turned into a self-parody as someone who wears suits all the time, everywhere, no matter what. As well, the Brionis were better utilized in that there was some variety in style, colour, accessories, etc.

I've always been a big bond movie fan, but it was getting a bit old. I think they've got a good thing started. I'm impressed with the character (it seemed before, there really was no character development in Bond), and there's a good story line involved. I'm really excited to see the next one.

As far as I'm concerned, there hasn't been a good Bond since Connery until now. No disrespect for the other actors, but it became very tired. Character development is always important. As well, it's good that there's FINALLY some colour in the main recurring characters -- Felix Leiter. Bond movies otherwise remind me of the pilot episode of Star Trek; any colour as long as it's white.

Agreed. Connery was absolutely perfect. He has the perfect combination of suave and toughness to him...heck, he was looking pretty darn good up until 'Entrapment'!
I actually did like Brosnan at first, but the character really didn't go anywhere. To me, it seemed was all about how many women's skirts he could get into and then the fighting scenes, there's gotta be more to that to keep a person interested. It seemed it was beginning to be more 'comical' than anything else.

True, Goldeneye wasn't half bad. The ones after it slowly got worse, however.

lol .....even that could have been a much greater movie-wasn't that the one with the 'christmas' lady?....this was my response to that one-:eusa_doh:
I also have to agree with Hadley, sequels usually are not as good as the first, and most of the time they end up dead in the water. X-Men are sequels were I think they did do a great job of making the viewers come back again-same with Star Wars.

You're thinking of The World is Not Enough. The last one had Halle Berry and her character had... a much worse name.

A lot of the women had 'interesting' names, come to think of it!
