Miller Hats

Hi,
Paul here from the UK. Just became the proud owner of a Miller Hats Lt Col. Kilgore cavalry hat, made of rabbit fur felt. Brilliant service from Miller Hats. Quick question if I may, what are you experiences of Miller Hats, and should I use a protector spray such as Tarrago Nano Protector Spray, or Scotchguard or something like that ?

I found this hat on eBay for $14. The interior tag says it is a Safari model, Cork color, $40. It was beat up, very dirty, and misshapen. I cleaned it, steamed and reshaped. There are even a couple of small mouse nibbles on the brim edge. I buffed one out with an emery board and reduced the other. Kind of adds character, I guess. Put a new band on it.

I have no idea how old it is, but with a price tag of $40, which I believe is original, I assume it can't be THAT old. That's way out of line with 40s and 50s prices. This was my first hat project. If anyone has insight into this hat they could share, that would be great. I know Miller Bros. Is not affiliated with Millers Hats of Dallas, Texas. I emailed them before joining the lounge.
