Mid-century chair inquiry

After trying to sell some dining room chairs on CL, a friend of mine has discovered that her chairs might be a very collectible mid-century design. One of her potential buyers thinks they're Hans Wegner. They don't really look like Wegner to me, and the lines aren't really similar to those used in many of his other pieces.

In any case, I'm no expert and have found little online. Does anyone here recognize the designer who made these (or at least who they might be ripping off)?

I told her that she needs to check for a maker's stamp first thing when she gets home.

Definitely Danish Modern- late 50s or 60s. I have no clue as to the designer, but they are probably worth something to somebody.

Well it set off a bidding war between 2 dealers who found her on CL, so I figured I'd try to get some details for her. If there are dealers interested in them, my advice to her is to not get rid of them under any circumstances, but I'd love to find any info I can as to what she has.

Tell her to check and see if there is a DENMARK stamp on the chairs. If there is she could have a Hans Wegner design. Wegner designed for many furniture companies and created some 500 chair designs during his career. She should check for a furniture makers mark such as....Fritiz Hansen, PP Mobler, Carl Hansen, Planmobel.

THANK YOU! This information is incredibly useful and pretty much what I was looking for.

I remember around 1960 my parents got interested in Danish Modern furniture. They wound up buying only one chair, but they got it at Jordan Marsh in Boston. As I remember, it wasn't terribly expensive, and Jordan Marsh at that time appeared to offer a wide variety of Danish Modern furniture at affordable prices. The chair they wound up with was very similar to those in your picture.

Since you're from the Boston area, I thought this info might be helpful.
