Men's Bear Fur Hat. Aargh - should have "bought it now"

I should have used the buy it now feature. Someone beat me to this bear fur hat that sounded like it would fit. Now it's back to searching for persian lamb in similar proportions - and, if possible, similar price.

How far do those hats go back anway?

I am certain someone more knowledgeable than myself will know how long they have been in use in Asia (quite a long time, I believe) but, I do know that Winston Churchill was sometimes seen wearing a Persian Lambswool hat that you can find listed these days as an Ambassador or Envoy hat. I have seen these in other furs including muskrat, mink, sheared beaver and, as noted above, bear fur.
