I may be a bit biased but any rings I wear are rings that I make myself. I make rings out of old British Florin and Half Crown coins as well as old India 1 Rupee coins which I also gold plate or antique depending on preference

That is quite impressive. I wouldn't even know where to begin to do something like that.

I've never really been a ring wearer, although I've tried on several occasions. I don't think I've found anything that just looks right on my hands. I would like to get some sort of signet or family ring that is worthy of being passed down at some point.

Just (hope the wife doesn't see) my wedding ring:

At the time of getting married had the title of shop floor manager. Wanted/needed something tough and abrasion resistant, so went with tungsten carbide. Hammered detailing, small inlaid sapphire, and laser etching on the ID for personal touches.

I have been on a ring binge lately but was hoping to find a general mens jewelry thread. Anyway this thread has me excited. When my rings come in I will post pics.

I've got a few 925 and Tungsten rings on the way. My taste runs between Guido and Jhonny Depp. Been getting into leather mixed with 925 silver....usually coming from Mexico.

Am I allowed to post bracelet pics on here or do we need another thread ?

My latest ring - one of five or six I have sized for pinky wear (exclusively on the left now as my right pinky carries one ring I always wear no matter what, a 40th birthday present from Herself) - is one of these:

Picked it up as it reminded me of the first souvenir type ring I ever wanted, but at the time didn't buy because the spider on that version was 3D and known for catching / breaking. I like my rings chunky and not prone to easy damage so I can wear 'em without worry.

In 2020, I have my eye on a few more souvenir types sized to fit my right ring finger; got 'em for the front two fingers on both hands, though I don't always wear 'em all together - it's nice to have options to flip rings around between different fingers on different days.

The thread you started a couple of years ago on this was good, from memory - https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/should-men-wear-bracelets.90353/ - a lot of good photos on there. I keep meaning to post a shot of my handcuffs bracelet on it. (Also recently been tempted by a Viking type one; several hundred years ago some of my mother's family were Norse Vikings...).

Right you are. I forgot about that thread . I was actually looking at a silver 925 handcuff bracelet but instead I went with the Barbed Wire version :) It arrives soon.

I just posted two from Mexico on the bracelet thread.

Thanks for reminding me :)

Do you size your rings for certain seasons summer/winter due to finger shrinkage and do you allow for weight loss/gain when sizing ?

I am just getting into rings and sizing can get crazy at times for these reasons. I was curious to know what everyone does.

My hands change size slightly during the day, and I'm sure during the seasons. So I bought a set of sizing rings, both a narrow set and a wide set, and check the sizing and comfort at various times. When I find a size that works best, I can take that ring to the jeweler so he knows EXACTLY what size to make my ring.

Thinking about getting into rings aside from my wedding ring, will have to get my head around the sizing as the ones I’m interested in will be Internet purchases.

I would think that any local jeweler should be able to help you with sizing your finger. I would also think, an internet jeweler should be able to supply you with a ring sizer prior to purchasing their product. These are just my thoughts and I hope it helps you with your decision.
