I actually belive that the Akubra Hampton is what I am looking for. I am wondering whether the crown is indeed less high that the crown of the Federation IV

I have owned those two hats at the same time and I can tell you the Hampton has a smaller crown than the Fed

Place a phone call to the custom hat maker or hat shop you wish to work with. As it turns out, phones still work for talking and it is amazing how little gets lost in translation when talking one on one.
