The Fonz didn't match, so I don't either.

The Fonz was intended to match, but the NB network point blank refused to have him in a black leather jacket....and at that, for a long tine he was only allowed the leather when the motorcycle was in-scene!

You'd be amazed at how networks run, and decisions are made. I'm sure it was a battle to get a "Hoodlum" character on the show to begin with.

I never noticed how slim Fonzies jeans were....they seem quite a bit slimmer than today's straight leg jeans?

The execs were afraid of having a hoodlum character on the show, especially one that was seen as a positive character. For the first season, they even made him wear a sky blue cotton windcheater before they'd allow a leather at all.

Well, after finished my Aero midnight blue order and also given the fact that I'll order a navy board racer the next time around I've started to look for some navy/dark blue shoes or boots around the web.
Hope it doesn't get too hard to find.

Both White's Semi Dress boot and Alden's Indy are available in navy CXL. Be careful, this could get very expensive very quickly!

I don't know that I would go to that extreme. A midnight blue jacket should match well enough with black shoes. I always match my shoes and belt, but jacket and shoes ... I dunno. o_O

Yeah, I'm more towards the shoes and belt matching. A handy trick is to get really dark brown stuff, especially belts. They go with most anything. The real trick, however, is not to care too much.

Yep - I remember when Happy Days came out and parents were deeply suspicious of kids treating a "greaser" as a hero. Fonzie had to earn his keep on the show and needed to be more righteous than anyone else just to stay on air.

This doesn't quite work, does it? On Steve McQueen, yes. On the Fonze... not so much. Is it a McGregor Drizzler?

I'm lovin' Fonzie's pale blue windbreaker!
That's really neat!
Can anyone identify it?

As for the OP, right now, matching my socks is the limit.

Looking at it again, it could well be. Perhaps a nod to the troubled Jim Stark, to give him a sense of rebelliousness in the absence of leather.

His testosterone level probably rose at least a couple hundred moving from that metro-sexual thing to a leather jacket!
