In case this name doesn't ring a bell this is the reporter who shut down the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.
Though most remember him for this he also helped over 7000 children with cleft lips in over 18 countries get new smiles.
A true humanitarian along with his Marvin Angels helped thousands of people worldwide. Houston icon who shall be missed greatly.
I truly wonder if this or the next generation will have any more like him and what makes a him like him.

'There was GREEN SLIIIIME in the EYEEE-CE MAAAAHCHINE!'

I do remember his blue shade, whit suits and white hairpieces.

What a piece of work he was.

A Texas showman to the core.

When I lived in Houston, he missed by a whisker running down my roomate.
He claims Marvin drove a giant blue buick, but I think it was a caddy.

Good Ol' Marvin... He'll be missed. A piece of history in a town that doesn't much value history.

:)

Just got back from Long Beach and heard the news. He helped a lot of kids with medical conditions in the US and around the world. He would always say "It's hell to be poor". I watched a special on him last night and they had some great photos of him from the 30's and 40's in DB suits and fedoras. I just hope that all his work can continue somehow.

Marvin's first on-air interview was with Humphrey Bogart when he worked for KPRC.
