I'll post my version of it.

I had it in basic teardroplike shape for a few weeks and some raindays after I re did it. C-form is and stays firm ( couln't mold it without water) and I really am happy how it is now. Maltese front style but more classic rear.

It is quite sharp in the front, but I have to mold it bit more.

I wasn't able to get the Fed to have quite the same look because the felt is too thick. It's clear from the pictures that Bogie's hat was a thin, Summer felt, like the kind you would wear in Southern California. I've been thinking of asking Art to make up a 1930s type open crown in his light felt so I could try to duplicate that bash correctly.
Yeah, but I think your carbon grey Fed III bash is better.

I wonder if Bogie was wearing a Bailey or Goldengate, since they're located in Hollywood.

kaosharper1- sorry, the color in the picture is all wrong. In person the hat is "Natural" felt color (light tannish... great color!) and the ribbon is sort of a milk chocolate red-brown...

The picture makes the hat look grey, but it's not. I need a better camera.

Art did a beautiful job on the cease. I tightened the front pinch a bit. I love this hat! It's become an obsession.

Actually my monitor looks as you describe and it looks great! Would you say its neutral enough to wear with grey or blue suit? Also what's the brim width and crown height? Is that a welted edge, or a ribbon?

Kaosharper1- Gees, maybe I need a new monitor instead of a camera.

It is a welted edge (I really prefer it to the bound edges on my other hats). The front of the crown is 4 1/2 inches, the back is 3 1/2+ inches and the brim is around 2 1/2 inches. The crease is very deep and it sits a bit higher on my head like the hat in the pictures of Bogart.

The felt is pretty neutral, but with the brown ribbon I generally wear it with the coat in my avatar. Art is probably a better judge of what colors it would go best with.

This hat just makes me smile.

A Maltese Bash

This is a Borsalino I've had for quite a while. At first, it just didn't look right on me, so I took out the bash Graham had put in it for me, and did a deeper bash, a sort of an easy deep diamond bash. The other day my partner and I were watching the Falcon, and it dawned on me that as rebashed, the hat looks a lot like Spade's (this one has a bound edge and a wind trolley, I know--but still). What do you pros think?

Matt, I think the crease looks great. Of course, the important thing is how it looks on your head. But from what I see in the pictures provided, it looks great.

Updated photos of the crease. This hat was made by Gus Miller of Batsakes in Cincinnati from photos and measurements from the movie...

Recently modified my Moonstone Fed IV deluxe, I think Bogey would be okay with it!

Looks great. You wear fedora hats very easily and naturally. Wear it in good health my friend
Johnny
Thank you so much, I always get nervous as to wether it just looks silly on me, but I’ve loved classic fedoras since I was a teenager.

Great bash work! That turned out well!
Thanks! It’s so much more fun to wear now with that diamond bash, feels very suave.
