Guys, I just found this link, checked the site, and feel like I fell into heaven. Has anyone here ordered any shoes or suits from Magnoli? I'd be interested in hearing.

Thanks.

I bought the Washington suit in grey from Indy Magnoli.
It is different than pictured on his site but I quite like it.

Sincerely,
The Wolf

in what respect does your suit differ from that pictured, Wolf? i've been considering the Marshall, but your evaluation of the Washington would be instructive and greatly appreciated.

minor really

The photo shows pocket flaps on the jacket when in actuality they are welt pockets.
At some point I hope to order a bespoke suit from Magnoli so I can get just what I want in a "Wolf suit".

I wore the suit to a Lounge gathering in San Francisco. It is pictured here:

I'm the one with the dark grey suit and red tie.

Sincerely,

I can't speak to the 'Washington' suit, but the 'Marrakesh' and 'Fairbanks' suits pictured on his site were built to my specifications and now reside in my wardrobe - as do black and white jacketed versions of the 'Manhattan' dinner suit. Based on my experiences I have no trouble recommending his services, and I'm planning to order more from him.

In fact, I've just got back from my publisher's Christmas dinner, where the 'Fairbanks' received a number of compliments. That's one suit which garners attention every time I wear it.

Doc, please post some pictures. I am considering the 'Marrakesh' and 'Fairbanks' suits, but would like to see some pictures of the suits on a person. Also if you could give a little more review than the ones you wrote on Magnoli's web-page.

I don't have a camera at home, and tend to avoid them in public (the nature of my work requires that I'm occasionally photographed, and it's pretty much the only facet of said work that I dislike), but I'll wear one of the suits to the party I'm attending tomorrow night and pass along any photos that might be of assistance.

What exactly did you have in mind for the reviews you requested? They're suits. They're nicely made and look good enough on me to receive complements pretty consistently (especially the Fairbanks). The fabric is good, the armholes high and the fit impressive. They're comfortable, the ordering process was simple and Magnoli is a (very patient) joy to deal with.

I have been very close to filling in an order-form for the 'Marrakesh' suit several times, but having always tried on a suit before buying i have been hessitating. I guess i am looking for more of the "make me push the submit order form button", some of which you just provdided above.

I too would like to see photos of the members' outfits from Indy Magnoli.
One of my 2007 resolutions is to get a custom suit. The Marrakesh and Marshall look good.

Does anyone have the Oxford Tweed trousers:

How high does the waist come up on these?

Because these are all bespoke, made-to-measure garments, the rise is really determined from your u-crotch measurement and the difference between your inseam and outseam. If you give me a large difference with a longer u-crotch, it'll be high-rise... but if the measurements are taken from a modern pair of trousers, the new pants will be made the same (unless specifically requested to be taller... it's not too much of a calculation to add an inch or two to the height of the waist).

That being said, the ones shown on my site are just a hair below belly-button height on me. I'll be adding some super-high-rise trousers just after Christmas. I'll post news about them here when they're added.

Kind regards,
Magnoli

Great, thanks - I'll probably place an order after Christmas for a pair of the tweed trousers, and get the measurements from the high rise trousers I already have.
