Made a jacket for my dog out of vintage flying trousers

So, my little 6 pound Yorkie hasn't seen snow before and was freezing while on his walks these last 2 days ( we're snowed in here ). I made him a jacket out of a couple of pairs of old flying trousers I had pulled the zippers off of.

I don't own a sewing machine so I sewed it up by hand. It's double layered with a piece of fleece inserted on top of the alpaca ( like a stuffed pita pocket ) to keep his back and flanks toasty. Just wish he was excited as I am about it...

lol I love this! I was thinking about doing something similar for my dog but him being a Tibetan Spaniel, there's hardly any need for it.

If I had a dog and we lived somewhere cold, I'd pay you to make me one! Well done.
And it would be great fun to do too. There's not a lot of flat seamless material to work with in those trousers so unless you didn't mind patching together different pieces you're limited to small dog sizing. Of course with a sewing machine you could whip together a jacket in a few minutes, filling them with down too then diamond quilting it all together but you'd probably boil a dog inside it. F-1B trousers are all over ebay for around $40, beat up A-11's the same

Lovely stuff! If you're making another one, can I suggest, as my parent's dog's jacket has, the back extended and loops of elastic attached for the hind legs? It means his bum won't be chilled!
