ma1 collars and cuffs

I have an alpha industries ma1, made in 1970.unfortunately all the ribbing needs replacing.my question is:what colour would the ribbing be, as the various sellers of replacement sets are selling both sage green and grey.on my jacket it looks closer to the grey than the green, but who knows with photos on ebay! Any advice would be much appreciated, as I dont want to ruin my jacket

I'm sure if you posted a picture of the label or jacket someone here could give you direction. Or you could search online listings and try to compare your label to jackets being sold on ebay, etsy, etc if they're on there. You might get lucky and find a jacket or two with original knits from the same series there to figure it out. I'm sure you could get the color of the listings figured out if you can find duplicates from the same series.

Hi Egan,

By tradition, MA-1 were sage green 90% of the time. Of course, there are variations of sage green... From what you say, my best bet would be to go with these, as they are kind of a "desaturated" sage green:

Yes MASH are very good, I've had lots of nylon flight jacket knit replacements.

We have both grey and sage green knit sets available. Not 100% sure if either are correct colour for your needs but I am happy to send you cuttings of both for you to check and see if either are suitable.
