Now I know the whole subject of "that show" is touchy, but you have to admit this is really cool from at least a reenactor/ADD standpoint (from which most of us here suffer).

Oh, I'd have that in my back yard (have 150 acres of woods so I wouldn't have to see it) as I am a HUGE M*A*S*H fan.

Only thing missing is Col. Flag.

Excellent work. The detail is top notch. You can almost imagine Hawkeye will crawl out of the bed, put on the robe, and grab a coffee. Did you go for the Frank Burns corner or Winchester paraphernalia?

I found a couple of other photos of this elsewhere, showing that it’s even more impressive, look how they turned the back of the house to represent the hospital itself! The only thing that throws it off is all the grass! I’ve never seen anything this accurate before. Oh, how I would have loved to have spent a weekend there, just hanging around. I bet the property owner just kicked back in the yard all the time.

Mash is my favorite show, still watch it almost every day. I would have that in my back yard in a second if it was large enough, and if I had a back yard. The only thing missing is the Officer's Club, or Rosy's Bar.

Not sure what they were referring to on this forum either. I know that it is not the most historically accurate production, but most other shows/films are not much better.

Fantastic, I love it! Very recently bought the complete box set, and am currently working my way through Season One.

I guess I missed something. Why is the whole subject of "that show" touchy?

The show was set in Korea, though (at least for the first few years) it coincided with the ongoing conflict in Vietnam, and often drew obvious parallels. It seems to me that it portrayed the military as human and therefore flawed; individuals' values were placed on them as individuals, with no-one being automatically treated with respect simply because of their military position. I've seen some folks have a problem with that, though the vast majority of such criticisms I've seen have really been directed more at Alan Alda personally rather than the show as such. I've seen far more of that than I have criticism of the show on grounds of historical accuracy or any such. FWIW, everything I have read about the show over the years indicates that people who were actually there in Korea and served in genuine MASH units loved the show and felt it really did reflect their real experiences.

On the historical accuracy front, it's really not my period, but the one glaring thing appears to be them all wearing black boots. From what I read, the boots they really wore in Korea were the same as the later boots (tall boots, like WW2 jump boots but with all-rubber soles), except that they were russett. If memory serves, it was post Korea that they went to black boots.

I'm thinking his modest size home more than accounts for the tens of thousands he's spent on the backyard! That pyramidal tent alone is worth nearly a grand, and that's not even including the wall tent, medical supplies, accessories...YIKES!

Yes, the boots are certainly wrong as I have my father's boots right here and they are brown.
I can also tell you that my father HATED the show because it was nothing like his experience there---at all. In fact, he said that if 90% of that stuff happened in his military---the people who have been court martialed and/or dishonorably discharged. Klinger was a HUGE point of contention.
Alan Alda's hippie hair would have never passed either.
