I am normally wearing UK size 6, but I just checket the doursoux site, the smallest size of their M43 boots is 39, which I believe equivalent to UK size 6, which is large for me according to earlier posts here. So, can anyone own this boots tell me that how big this boots are? Does it help if I put an insole in it? Thanks

Sorry for replying so late, insoles will make these boots A LOT more comfortable, so I'd recommend that anyway. Apart from that, my pair has developed a hole right on top of the right boot above the toes, making the boots practically useless. Does anybody know if this can be fixed in any way? So at the moment, I would nor recommend this boot any longer, as the value-for-money for the time I've worn them does not justify the price. I can't believe that the cheaper versions around will be that much worse.

Any recommendations on what is available in the UK, other than the Buzz Rickson's that seem to be Web only? Looking for something around the same quality and price of the BR's

Shape doesn't look quite right, quality of stuff I've brought from them before has been okay, but I'd rather invest a little more in something I'll be wearing a lot.

This might not be much help since you're not in the U.S., but I recently bought a pair of At The Front's new run of boots and they are a vast improvement on anything I've worn previously. They're properly sized, comfortable, and solidly built of first grade materials. These boots will probably outlast me if taken care of properly, lol.

(Edited after I realized that the style being discussed was the reverse upper service shoe, not the combat service boot ("double buckles"). I don't own this model, but I do own the combat service boots as well as the earlier style russet smooth leather service shoe, both of which are newly redesigned American made offerings from ATF, just like the service shoe style you are seeking. Sorry.)

I too own ATF's new U.S. made service shoes/boots and they are a vast improvement over the previous HHBrown (Corcoran) version. The leather isn't the quality as found on vintage U.S. military boots or even Red Wing boots, for example. However, they are built like a tank, the soles are great, etc. They should last for many years to come.
