Lyndon Johnson ordering pants

I snicker every time I think about LBJ on the phone with Joe Haggar in TX, ordering casual pants.
...burping as he orders some pants from Joe Haggar of the Dallas-based menswear company, telling him: “The crotch down where your nuts hang -- it's always a little too tight. It's like riding a wire fence. See if you can't give me an inch where the zipper ends, right back to my bunghole.”
We've all had pants that fit funny, but who but LBJ would have had the audacity to call the tailor and demand more "ball room"? Why was the POTUS taking his own time to call about tight pants? Didn't he have a valet who could have made the call?

If this thread is inappropriate for this portion of the forum, or inappropriate altogether, I apologize. It simply amuses me...the transcript of the whole conversation is here and there online, just google it.

Weirder still, LBJ ordering suits...
one day in December, 1960 . . . Lyndon Johnson, the salt of the good earth of Austin, Texas, turned up on Savile Row in London, England, and walked into the firm of Carr, Son & Woor. He said he wanted six suits, and the instructions he gave were: “I want to look like a British diplomat.” Lyndon Johnson! Like a British diplomat! You can look it up.
