Sorry for the quality of these photos--my favourite dog. Before we owned him he had belonged to an old Indian. We kept his name which I believe is spelled like Shounka and pronounced Shoon-ka.

Folks, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your loved furry friends. We have lost more than a couple in recent years and I empathize. We had to find a new home for one of our cats (she couldn't get along with anyone else), and I was in mourning for a few days or that.

Speaking of cats, that Scottish Fold is an absolute delight. What a charming little creature!

Nothing this guy likes more than a nice warm Hudson Bay blanket on a cold day...unless maybe some 5-year cheddar...or some olives...

It hasn't been a fun week. We lost our little fella Thursday about 1:30 a.m. He was a feisty little scrapper of a pup, that our daughter brought home back in December of 2001. Then, he would fit in your hand! Matter of fact she had him hid out in her purse for about a week before we knew she had him! LOL. When we found out about him I told her she could keep him only if I could name him. So Smedley Darlington Butler became a member of our family at that moment! You old Marines should recognize that name! And a scrapper he was! She left him with us when she followed anothr Marine to California.

He was nothing but pure devotion, loyality, and unconditional love. I dunno exactly what he was, but I think he was some kind of Chihuahua/poodle mix.

Here he is as we were preparing for Rita several years ago (which thankfully missed us), and you can see behind him his big galoot of a buddy, Chance. I'm still a bit worried about Chance . He misses his little bud.....

There will always be big empty spot in my heart for that little guy. We loved him so.

Renault

I'm so sorry Renault. I'm right there with you.

Lost my Siamese of 18 years last Sunday. The hole Percy left in my heart was felt immediately. I still expect him to curl up at my feet in the night. He began to fade quickly the week before & was healthy & pampered right up til then. Thanks to friends, I found a very caring Animal Hospital & he's now at peace. *sniff*

It'll take me quite the while to adjust to not having him around, but as I'm reminded there was a lot of love there. I'll always miss those pretty blue eyes.

A bit late, but I'm sorry to hear of your losses! Losing a pet is hard. We've been through it a number of times and it always feels like losing a family member, something "non pet" people will never understand.

I know that both of your pets had wonderful lives filled with love.

Between bites of my pricey 5 year old cheddar, he said to say thanks...so thanks Melissa and Tom!

I gotta say, this cat has great taste in food.
