This is my "wonder dog" (yeah, you look at him and wonder, "what kind of idiot dog is this"). :D

This picture captures Bubba's personality just perfectly. He's just about totally worthless, but he sure is a good dog. We have three other "real dogs" (i.e. "normal" dogs), but Bubba is the only "special" dog of the bunch (and he knows it). ;)

Big Man,
Great dog, you got to have one for comedy relief. Bet he is outstanding with the grandkids.

I had one named Omak. Got him out of the pound, he was the end result of thousands of years of non-selective outbreeding AKA a mutt. He was also intelligent (although no common sense), loyal, and a lot of fun. He was with me for over 15 years and I lost him in October. Still a void there.

Is Bubba a great dane? ...

When people ask me what kind of dog Bubba is, I always answer, "he's a white dog." (well, ok, sometimes he's a bit dingy gray or beige) :D

lol lol lol lol lol

Yep, that describes Bubba's pedigree as well.

I understand about the loss, too. It's way too easy to get attached to a dog (or cat or any kind of pet). Especially the ones that have that "unique" personality.

Big Man,

I have one of those dogs too...she is Bailey...the 96 lb lap dog...she has her own recliner..if you sit in it...she will just stare at you and bark till you get out of it...she only gets on the couch when we are not looking, because I find little hairs on the pillows.

[huh]

I always told people Omak was a Sri Lankan Sloth Hound. Reasoning that he was so lazy the only thing he would ever be able to catch was a sloth. Funny thing was most people said they had heard of the breed but had never seen one. Best one was one of my son's friends told that his aunt had one too.lol lol lol

Max is improving

John how is Max?

Max is doing better but still has a ways to go. I am waiting for a check so I'll have the $ to take him to the vet if he should feel bad again. He is not as spry but is not showing any signs of pain unless he hops over something. I give him a little massage in the mornings mostly along his back and hips plus his back legs to get him going. I have been taking him for short walks on the block the house is on and he is loving that and doing well with it. (In between the rain.)

He is actually a little spoiled since now he knows if he wants me he just has to cry/whimper and I come to see whats wrong. Mostly now it's that he wants me to sit with him instead of him coming to sit with me. Still, when we sit together watching TV or movies you can see that love light in his eyes and I just melt. He's hanging out in front of the heater as the heat comes up to get charged up this morning.

So the little guy is much improved and still improving.

we have to cats, a tabby female named Stimpy ( my dh named her, he had her before he met me) she is about 10 years old and we have a 10 week old kitten named Angus. He is rescued from the RSPCA and he loves his cuddles and he gives you kisses. Stimpy is not to impressed with the fact that there is another cat in the house ( he runs the other way when he sees her!!!!!) but they will get used to each other ( eventually!!!!!!). I would post photos but I don't know how to, sorry. [huh] :eusa_doh: :eusa_doh:

My mother in law's oldest dog was put down a few days ago, she took her to the vet and found out she had a large amount of cancerous tumours. She was the friendliest dog I have ever known, and we miss her!

She also recently got a new puppy, however (not as a gut reaction to losing her first dog), so at least life goes on.
