Here's an outfit I have been putting together, and a few of the items were purchased from members here.
The suit was purchased from Nonchalant. It is a 1943 dated dark blue two color pinstripe by Richman Brothers. Dark blue and white pinstripes. You can see them in Nonchalant's last photo of the listing.
The hat was purchased by Razzman. It is a dark silver Beaver brand.
The tie also came from Nonchalant (and it shall never darken his drawer again!).
The suspenders (or braces) I purchased from an antique market.
The hanky was one of my grandfathers.
This shirt is the best one I have. The reason I like it so much is the cut of it. Slim fit and the sleeves are not baggy at all like most of the dress shirts I've seen off the rack. I like the collar because it is not too wide and not too pointy. Just right. The pattern also blends very well into the suit (a blue suit), and adds a touch of detail to the cuff. It was made by French Connection and proudly purchased from TJ Maxx.
I had to get the pants and the sleeves of the suit shortened as well. Also tissue was inserted into the hat's leather sweatband to feel more snug than it already was. Long journey I tell you.
I thought this thread might give a nice understanding on how a person would go about finding and creating a vintage outfit. Each item counts in the end.
Thank you to Nonchalant and Razzman for your items.
