Lost Jacket - Tampa Int'l Airport

The weight is definitely recognised... but from my experience it is not always considered high quality because of that. A lot of people think that thin and soft are sign of quality...

Yep I think most people like lightweight stuff but we definitely are not “most people”

Thanks for all the replies and condolances about the jacket. Thinking back over the situation more, I'm sort of convinced that I must have "dropped" it while saying goodbye's (and related hugs, etc) to my family members and it likely wound up falling into the street at the curb. I can only imagine what it's fate was. I've kept touch with the Lost and Found at the airport, however, most likely, it met an untimely end under a taxicab (or 50 of them - in the drop off area). I don't think insurance covers this and as Tony said, it's a $1k deductable so not even worth making a claim. Lesson Learned: Always put your jacket on your back and wear it, regardless of temperatures, through the entire airport except while going through the security monitors. This is what I should have done and usually always do.

Just more wanted to put out the word in the un-likely case it's ever spotted again. Thanks!

Yes indeed Nick! And given one of them has Stage 4 cancer, the likelyhood of being able to give them hugs like that many more times is slim to none.

Lol turn it in where? For 99.99999% of people, it's just a nice leather jacket. Extremely slim chance they'll look up the brand name online. They probably won't ever even realize they're wearing a $1K worth of leather on their back.

I completely understand that (unfortunately) we live in a world where integrity doesn't exist for a lot of people. But I want to hope that if someone found the jacket at the airport that they'd turn it in to airport authorities. At least that is what I'd do, and I think a lot of people here on the forum would do the same thing.

Its the kind of world we live in though. Find something people look on it as their gain. I lost my wallet, got wallet back empty from the police lost property, but they would not leave their name, driving licence in there £80 gone, iPhone left on train, not returned either probably because it had £30 inside the case. Ray bans Wayfarers left on sunbed, stolen from high end hotel. Reading gllases stolen from breakfast table of another posh(ish) hotel but my newspaper left there.
Maybe the jacket was trampled by a thousand feet and run over by countless taxi's but my guess is someone found it and kept it so I would check the good old eBay, bid $1000 on it if you are sure it is yours and get police involved, especially if it is sold in the Tampa area.

My Mrs is always saying that:D:D:D. Yes sometimes it's my fault loosing the wallet and the phone but the sun glasses and readers. Well I really wanted to find them then ruin their holiday even if it meant the children had to miss out(The manager said they would be expelled from the hotel if I could prove it, both hotels)The best one was where I was sitting with some tourists while eating after a ride on the bike.Sat down on a wall, helmet beside me. Got up, walked about 20ft then remembered helmet, the guy that I had been sitting next to only had moved my helmet nearer to him so I could not see it. I think I should have pushed him over the sea wall into the mud, a 20ft drop. Just gave a dirty look instead.
Yes I should be more careful, I sweat buckets in pubs and clubs as I refuse to take my leather jackets and hang them up, either that or dump them in the boot of the car....out of sight.

Greetings AeroFan:
Oh man that makes me sick. If i lived in Tampa i’d hunt it for you. That grief is right up there with losing a dog. Heartbreaking.

I don't know on that score.... one of my cats died of kidney failure a couple of years ago next month; I'd have sold every jacket I owned to pay or a transplant for her had that been possible.

Last week during during "The Beast from the East" I took the Wife away for a night in Bath (our Valentine treat). During the rush for a train home, my shoulder bag became detached (contained wallet, cash, cards & iPhone) I didn't notice until I was on a moving Train due to the weight of a rucksack. Got off first station & spoke to customer services; my bag had been found & handed in with all contents. Rail company gave me a free ride back to collect it, turns out one of their Staff found it. Thanked all concerned & emailed their bosses :)
