It's my pleasure to say that a decision has been made. FedoraGent and Magneto will soon be Los Angeles Fedora Loungers. Alright, so now the question is...where are all the good vintage spots?

Having been raised in Pasadena, Alhambra, Hollywood and E.L.A., I can tell you that if you are accustomed to the weather in the Bay Area, you will suffer from the heat late May to late Dec. anywhere other than Santa Monica or some other beach community except Long Beach which seems to have heat waves even though it is on the ocean. Just my opinion but living anywhere in So. Ca. is not worth any amount of money. The people are fine but life is 100% different than San Francisco. I visit my relatives 5 or 6 times a year and after 2 or 3 days, relatives aside, I can't wait to get back home. This of course is coming from someone that just hates hot weather, freeways and shopping malls.

Not exactly a place with lots of vintage people in it, but..
I went and saw the Bradbury building yesterday.. I just love her!
Black iron lace, glazed tiles, waterdriven elevator. Very beautiful.

Welcome to my fair city. I'm a native that lived in the bay area for a few years before I found my way back here. My only advice to you is as follows; Unless all that matters to you are starlets and palm trees, do not judge the city too harshly at face value. Traffic shmaffic. No worse than any other city once you know the ropes. Bad air? Umm ... it's a beach city, guys. Don't live in Pomona. Fake people? Now, that's really a superficial judgment. The value of LA is in its depth. The surface can be fun and glittery (or gritty), but there is more to do and more to be found in this city (and surrounding areas) than any other city in the country. Sometimes, it just takes a little looking.

Try going to the Derby on a good Sunday night. lol
Try going to one of Mr. Demille's events. You'd be surprised.

Vintage spots are pretty spread out, like the county. You have to know where to go before looking. Get familiar with the area before venturing off, though. Getting lost isn't always a good thing.
