What do we do about a loose liner? I have a nice hat that I used water to bash, now the liner is really floppy. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Was the liner glued in? (Look under the sweatband. If there is no stitching, it probably was. But, it may have been set-in [unattached] initially.) The glue may have let go. Shape the hat and set it upside down (on the crown). Then shape the liner as best you can. See if this solves the problem once it dries.

As a last resort (assuming you do not take it to a hat shop), you can remove the liner. If it was glued in, there will probably be glue marks/stains on the felt. Just be sure to keep the liner if you remove it as you may need it in the future, especially if you ever sell/trade/etc the hat.

It was probably glued in and let go when I was bashing it. It's my Camptown, which is a great hat, but boy was it stiff. I had to wet it pretty good to get it into a shape. The top of the liner now flops down instead of sticking to the top of the hat.

What sort of glue should I use? Elmers?
