Looking To Expand My Cufflink Collection

I was considering expanding my cufflink collection & the only place that I can think of is The Gentleman's Corner. I like the variety that they offer. Is there any place stateside that can offer the same or similar stateside?

Geez, there are plenty of really nice vintage "lots" for sale of cuff links, tie clasps and pins, and shirt studs listed on eBay. The variety of both style, materials (junk metal to silver or gold) and size, for amazing deals of which the price makes a purchase very attractive for anyone in the market for more items to wear.

Tell me, how well do those stay together? I was looking at a few pair of those myself, and wondered it they stay snapped together well, or come apart when you don't want them to? Thanks!

Don't worry. They stay together. It really works quite well.

Agreed on the snap cufflinks. I have around a dozen pair and all work very well. They are my favorite style cufflink.

I have just one pair of vintage snap cufflinks, and while I love the idea, I have trouble squeezing in two layers of fabric. It's hard to get the cufflinks through the holes in the folded-back sleeves. If the two halves of the cufflinks were just a bit longer, they'd be great. I wonder if I just got a badly designed pair of cufflinks.

Geez, the only issue negative I have had is with studs not staying in a shirt and with one tie clasp I have not staying on the tie! Most all my dress shirts are french cuff shirts. Several are shirts that need studs. I just finished looking on eBay for some different studs and found some that have a thin metal bar on the backing that have a spring to push in to collapse the back bar, push it into the button hold and the spring then makes that thin metal bar spread out and keep the stud from falling out....at least from the back side of the stud on the shirt! I did see some nice looking "snap" cuff links, now that I know they work, I can feel comfortable about buying a few sets.

In case anyone likes historical type vintage cuff links, I noted that someone had replica cuff links from what they claim as to the original cuff links that George Washington wore to his inauguration. I cannot vouch for how authentic they may look (knowing they are honestly saying they are a replica item) as I was not invited to attend George's affair! lol!

To date, I own no new cuff links. I say that as to mean I have no ownership of any cuff links made within the past 15 or 20 years to my knowledge and I tend to like vintage cuff links for me more appealing.

Yep, a good source for them, also resale and antique shops as well. I have found some really nice deals for cuff links in antique shops. I normally will "haggle" a price down if they are more than what I would consider paying for them, but not always will the price come down. One antique store local to me has a giant basket full of less priced dead stock cuff links. I raided them for what I felt was the nicer looking ones at the time. Most of them were "swank" or similar brand.

I don't like one sided modern style cuff links and looked around for a source of two sided chain links and found Benson and Clegg. Not stateside but nevertheless quite convenient to order from. Among other things chain links fit much better over a watch.

Yes, chain links are my favorite type. And with chain links, I can usually put them in before putting the shirt on -- I can squeeze my hand through the end of the sleeve.
