Looking for a good Fez

Maybe the search function is broken. Or could it be that nobody has talked about the fez?

Anyways here is the situation. In my reenacting group our new elected CO has a way of calling himself "The Grand Poobah" So my plan is to get him a Fez and put the US Army Officers insignia on it. I don't want a 2 buck costume fez. Nor do I want to spend big chunks of money. I was looking in the more 20-30 dollar range as an upper end. There is one vintage one on eBay I'm watching. But I'm afraid it might be a bit small for him. Hat size is 7 3/8.

Any ideas, directions, suggestions or help is welcome.

Sounds like the one at VHS fits the bill for you, but where would you get a really fine fez? And what constitutes a really fine fez? What kind do Shriners wear and who's their source?

Well we wound up with all of us wearing fez's. Black tassels for enlisted and gold for officers. We even had a different sort of fez, more a pillbox type for the one lady (WAC) in the group at this most recent show. No pictures yet of us in uniform at formation. But here are a few pics:

:eek:fftopic: What is the proper plural term for fez? :p :eek:fftopic:

It's 'fezzes', or 'fezes' (an apostrophe is only for a possessive). Personally, I would have thought the plural of 'fez' was simply 'fez'.

Fezzezezzez.
My Shrine fez is a ventilated fur felt, high quality fez from an outfit in.....FL? I'll look at it in the a.m.. My guess is they don't make them available to anyone but Nobles.

Wore this to the prom (chaperone) back in May. It's one of the $15 jobs with a sequined "M" I sewed on for a little school spirit.

And yes that's a vintage tux with a '49-'62 Union Tag, vintage Tux shirt, shirt studs and tie.

I think we can expect to see a minor bump in the popularity of fezzezesses.

As the good Doctor said, "I wear a fez now, fezes are cool!"

I'd wear the one with a baboon on it in a heartbeat. I'm only 31, but I've learned a few sound lessons in life. One of them is that there aren't many things that can't be made better by putting monkeys on them. Keep that in mind as you journey through life, overcoming its many hardships. I know I always do.
