Looking at Bikes

This bike is very comfortable to me... the controls are forward (was looking for mids... so may change... but they certainly dont feel forward much.. must.have long legs). This pic is just this morning making the purchase at sellers

That's an amazing deal and a killer bike! I'd love to see one with clip on bars and mid/rear set controls, chopped rear fender and a fly screen. But man, right off the line that bike is cool as Hell! Have fun man and ride safe!

The mid controls are perfect for aggressive riding though it can certainly be done with forward controls. I just like to push down on the opposite pegs or floorboards when needed in a sharp turn or fast sweeper. Of course, I also have short legs so there is that.

I will keep things as they are for quite awhile. Make sure i know what i like and dont like before i think about swapping things out... its expensive!

That it is, that it is. It adds up quick, then throw in the leather affliction and all your loot disappears very quickly. It’s worth it though. No feeling like riding. Addicting as heck. I hope the bug hits you hard and it becomes a part of your life.

I really look forward to my rides. I plan on creating a thread 6mo and 1yr to give updates on how things are going and my thoughts, experiences. Maybe it will help others out if they are thinking about getting a bike

Im extremely pleased with the bike. It is very comfortable for me and plenty of power for its size. Im little over 5' 7" and a buck fifty... fits perfect. Taking time getting used to it.

Down the road... the only reason i would decide to go to another bike is if i want something that would be better to tour on. I mean its certainly not a caddilac ride... but not wanting that right now.

Yes i have seen and read all the things you can do to them ... pretty cool. I like the looks of the 48 for sure. I also like how compact it is. I will say im glad i went with a 1200... think its perfect for this bike. I think i was fortunate picking this bike up used for the price. Maybe even more reason to keep it no matter what!

A quick update on the bike... loving it. I have ridden quite a bit... mostly 1 to 2 hr rides.... have put on 900 mi so far. Feel very confident on the bike. In a month or so... plan on doing a stage 1. Installing a clean air breathing AC, slip ons, and a tuner. Make the bike run cooler... better.

I have ridden in lot of different conditions... but in the spring planning on a multi day ride. Looking forward to a road trip!!!

Im going to do the AC and slip ons myself... seems pretty easy to me. The tuner... well kinda debating on going the cheap route. I could just do the XL-ViED-14 (enrichen fuel only - these bikes run lean here... and the air is restricted) or use a canned map or auto tuner (FP3)... or go with TTS (have mechanic do it).

Not sure where this is going... so i dont want to put too much into this one as i could sell it and get what i have in it most likely or just keep it for around town. But this bike will last me awhile for sure! Decisions..
