Londoners: Has anyone gotten round to seeing Patrick Stewart in MacBeth this season?

I've been dying to make the commute up to London and want to know if its worth it

I really can't recommend it enough. It's a stunning, stunning production - Stewart is absolutely on form - better I think than even his turn as Prospero last year. The rest of the cast are equally good - especially Cate Fleetwood as Lady Macbeth. One of the best productions of any Shakespeare I have ever seen.

Alas, it closes this Saturday I believe, so you might be stuck with hoping for returns, but it really truly is worth it.

bollocks. I was hoping to see it in a few weeks. I may have to wait for hte next Stewart vehicle. He is superb in portraying Shakespearean characters. Friday nite Im stuck in Kent though as I've a date with a girl that looks like Christina Ricci

Patrick Stewart. Everyone knows him as one of the Star Trek captains but he as well as Ian Mckellan are considered two of the best Shakespearean actors alive today

I'm still in the process of kicking myself over the matter. I managed to leave it too late to buy tickets, by the time I started looking they were reselling for £165 - a little outside my price range at present.

It is a shame, it looks like an excellent production and Macbeth is my favourite of the tragedies.

Well, yes. He was also an excellent Leondegrance in Excalibur, a perfectly silent Karla in Smiley's People and his one-man A Christmas Carol deserved every award it won and more. I even liked him in Dune (although Sting and I really need to discuss a couple of issues).

I believe that I might have some small awareness of the man's work.

But a Christina Ricci Lookalike? Priorities, man!

I'd misread you. And yes priorities dictate squiring around a 4ft11 ricci lookalike that is maybe 7.5 stone dripping wet, sans her rather ample bossom

Because every time I've seen women near Mr. Stewart I have observed the same phenomena: weakness of knees, heaving of bosoms and much in the way of sighing. The man's got charisma.
