Was just reading another thread and learned about Diamond Sportswear. This Melton wool/horsehide jacket is just drop dead gorgeous, I think: http://www.diamondcapco.com/dsc_aviator.html

It made me wonder what other out-of-sight gems are out there that you guys, who've been addicted to leather jackets a lot longer than I have, might know about.

My Aero closet is already getting full. Who else do you all put in that special category?

Superior Flight Apparel. He needs to update his website but from what I've seen in the black leather jacket thread...holy hell I need one.

I was seriously interested in SFA but the jacket I wanted "Minnesota Field Jacket" was not being produced when I contacted them. Went with Johnson instead.

Contact him. Send him an email with what kind of jacket you are thinking of.
If it's one he has some photos of on his web site, refer him there.
If a variant of one of those designs, tell him what you would like different.
If not one he shows...send him a link to a similar design jacket from another maker and see if he will make such/similar.

Ask what leathers he currently has. (He shares leather shipments with Good Wear, as does Himmel Bros from what I've heard.)
Ask him what it would cost.
If you are interested, give him the go ahead, he will ask for your measurements (uses the same system as Good Wear), and downpayment.

Those field jackets - the M41 and the Minnesota - look very, very nice. An M41 in A2-weight seal horsehide... Or the Minnesota without the bi-swing and with buttons... Interesting. Very interesting.

Hey Jeff. I've been to their site a dozen times or more and I can't for the life of me figure out:

1. What they sell.

2. How to order it.

3 What it costs!!!

I'm no idjit (at least I don't believe so) but that site has me stumped. It reads like a group of blog entries not a business page. Any help would be appreciated.

Worf, I agree. This was my first visit, though.

I guess the guy just wants to keep it small. An enthusiast who likes to make unique jackets. Certainly does some lovely stuff.

Hello

My site is in the process of being revamped- unfortunately it is taking longer than I thought it would... I used to be an airplane mechanic and web design is not my strong suit...

Thank You

No offense taken at all! I'm more than a little embarrased it is taking me so long to get the site updated.

Thank You
Mark

So what's harder: fixing a 747 or copying a jacket from a picture?

I really like that D pocket one!
Been trying to figure what a D pocket w/o a diagonal main zipper would look like...great jacket.
