Little help on this hat

I just found this hat at an antique shop. It is a summer weight Stetson. I have never seen one with the price tag still in tact like this one. Any Ideas on age? I am guessing 40's to early 50's. It seems to have never been worn. It came from an estate sale, seem this lady had many husbands and save all they had in the atic. Sorry for the photo quality, I am on the road and have limited improvement tools. The hats color is the rusty brown, don't know why most of the photos came out looking grey.

That is a NICE hat! It shows that there sre still bargains out there . You just have to look . Garage sales , tags sales ect are good places to get hats . A lot of people go to them just to resell it on Ebay .

Look at it this way, the antique store probably paid $10 for it and made a tidy profit at $25. Win-win situation.:fedora:

They had another Royal Deluxe that was in good shape, it had kind of a whip stitch around the brim, the color was grey. I don't know how I like the stitch, and I have many grey hats.

Its value is whatever the market will bear. But you'd be hard-pressed to find a new hat of comparable quality (which means a custom, essentially) for less than, say, 10 or 12 times what you paid for that. So I'd say you did pretty well for yourself.
As to that other hat at the antique store: If it is of a size most of us moderns could wear, and it is priced the same as the one you bought, I say go back there and snap it up. And if you decide you don't really want it, the FL classifieds would help you find it a new home within a day or so, I'd bet, if not even quicker than that.
