List of Reproduction Vintage Clothing

I find myself forever drawn to vintage clothing. I don't see much of the great original stuff popping up in thrift shop in my area anymore so I have just recently gotten into the realm of accurate reproduction vintage clothing.

Im having trouble figuring out whats out there for period accurate civilian clothing or as 'close to accurate' as you can find. Could you folks please point me toward other places to find period correct clothing? Thanks all!

Here is what comes to mind and what it think is an approximate era.

They don't consider themselves Repro, but The Vermont Country Store still carries some classic traditional stuff. Not flashy, but worth a look. Check out their "Brands from the Past" section for Buster Brown ankle socks and Necco wafers! Also, seersucker pajamas, Raggedy Ann dolls, cloth handkerchiefs and Timex wind-up watches..

Some of their clothing line recommendations are pretty cheesy IMO (like Modcloth - it may look good in photos, but what I've seen in person is cheaply made), but some good advice on how translate modern pieces into other eras.

The site has very helpful and detailed articles on vintage clothing, but some of their recommendations are terrible, in my honest opinion.

Agree. I suspect they're trying to go too broad with price points. And to be fair, their target audience is dancers - fit and washability are probably higher priorities than authenticity. But useful, I thought, in terms of silhouettes and looks that you can buy on Amazon and combine with a necktie from Etsy and shoes from Remix, and have the beginnings of a look.

Wow I can't believe I never heard of Darcy Clothing before! Their stuff looks movie quality, how cool.

I wonder if thats where the costumes for Peaky Blinders came from? I could dress like that every day.

They are actually affordable too. So much repro clothing seems to be priced super expensive.

Some of them probably. The Peaky Blinders' collar of choice for the first three seasons was the washable version of the Arundell.

I have a few Darcy bits, including the basic blue two-piece cotton drill worksuit. Lovely. I intend to buy more when funds allow.

No, it doesn’t!

I’ve been a happy customer of theirs for a couple of years now. So far, I’ve ordered from Darcy nine collars, one box of collar studs, three evening shirts (one “boiled”, one semi-stiff marcella, and one soft marcella), one pair of arm bands, a sized white tie, and an evening waistcoat.

This was splendid. As a generously sized individual and someone who is rather hard on clothing, it's nice to have a source for reproduction pieces. I was particularly delighted to re-discover Golden Age Motorcycle Clothing, as I remembered them but had long ago lost their name and website.

I've looked at those Naple Doram suits on etsy before now. They look nice, and very wallet friendly, though I've always shied away from them being cashmere. I'd be worried about durability. Great price, though.
