Linen pants for summer

Still in the middle of winter and a lot of snow here in northern Sweden but summer will come and I'm thinking of ordering some linen trousers. As I have no experience of such a garment I have to ask if I do need to have them lined to the knee?

I am looking at Luxire for
- off white linen, 9 oz.
- ecru heavy vintage, 390 grams/13 oz

390 grams must be rather thick fabric. Maybe made for the Scandinavian summer....?

No lining is necessary in linen trousers. A lining kind of defeats the purpose, since linen breaths so well.

I would go with the heavier, even with the warm summers we (usually) get here. Very light linen doesn't drape as well and wrinkles something awful. Heavier linen drapes better. It wrinkles, too, but doesn't seem to crease as much.

I have a couple of pairs from Luxire in the 13oz fabric. It's a lovely weight. Too much modern linen is too lightweight for my tastes, so this cloth is perfect.

I would like to see you TT in the trousers in the Luxire link you posted!

And now the link is luckily deleted.

Frankly having worn linen for years I would have the crotch lined. Linen can get damp and chafe despite the wicking possibilities.
