That gets compounded for me when people say (and write) "He should of went to the store" it's not of, it's have, he should have gone to the store.

THAT is my #1 Pet Peeve of All Time

I cannot begin to tell you how much it...I won't say it because it'll probably get me banned...whenever I see people do that. I'm sorry, but the MOMENT I see someone type that, I immediately wonder if they passed primary school. Because it's a mistake that nobody should make. My opinion of their intelligence just PLUMMETS.

Don't forget "bare" and "bear". As in "bearing her soul to him". On a tablet, maybe?

Oh, I know! The cuz instead of because or at least 'cause. Irritating, just irritating.

This is one that you often hear on television, during those god-awful TV spots for new products or competitions for vacations or whatever.

"Extra added bonus".

A BONUS IS EXTRA AND ADDED. WE KNOW THAT.

Just. Say. 'Bonus'.

Please!
Hi

It gets worse, now bonus is a verb. Local Gold coin shop: "If we buy $100.00 of your old gold, we will bonus you $10.00 to pay for your gas."

I'm a pretty good wordsmith, but I'll put up with a lot, but that's just too goofy.

"Round circle." As opposed to what, the oblique trapezoidal kind?

"Task" as a verb, as in "Joe was tasked to prepare a report." What, "assigned" wasn't good enough for Modern Corporate Culture?

"Gift" as a verb, as in "She gifted me with a new hat." "Gave" doesn't work?

Two words I have heard adults say: "Pasketti" for Spaghetti

This is an interesting phenomenon called metathesis, and it has been going on for a long time. The famous example is butterfly, which was originally much more appropriately called flutterby.

I hear the words bafroom and axe for ask, at my work.

Heres a new one, today I heard the word either to mean both. "He took pictures of either hand." Should be: "He took pictures of both hands."

And one of the worst is nookyalar, for nuclear.

I also hate "I seen it."
