I'm so glad to hear the 641XX is working for you! My favourite jacket in the world.

And yeah, +1 on the full circle. I'm now back on the style that is similar to my first jacket (straightforward Highwayman style) and I'm looking for whatever decent Perfecto I can find... Don't even care much about who made it, just as long as the measurements are close enough. But yeah, there was the whole world of D-pockets, CRs, etc. in between, all of which I have sold.

TBH, I was always perfectly happy with Schott and in retrospective, it wasn't inferior in any way to anything the great artisans made for me. Thus, some day I'll get that damn 641XX.

In my opinion a great leather jacket is one that suits the wearer and accompanies the wearer on his adventures, showing the wear marks and scars through the years.

When "jackets" themselves become a hobby, where you develop an eagerness to learn about them, etc etc... I think that's the point where you can't live with more than one, or at least constantly think about more. It then transcends simply wanting one good one to wear about. Also, Idk about you guys, but sometimes I'm more into the jacket itself than wearing it!

That's something I've learned about myself... Just owning a certain jacket makes me happier than wearing it. Besides, all this fuss about the fit, it's just so tiresome... I often ask myself - why bother? There's really no jacket in this world that can do any good for my looks. But I guess I really love leather jackets and that's why I'd love to settle with just one and perhaps forget about the whole thing.

I would never collect leather jackets, or anything else for that matter. I don't understand this hobby.

I'm perfectly satisfied with learning about various jackets through pictures and reading about them, I save the pictures and interesting articles, without wanting to own or imagining myself wearing it luckily.

I think it's complicated to have all covered with one leather jacket. Brown, reddish or black, heavy or lighter leather/lining, sporty or classic style, fitted or lose, and the list goes on.

Well, Loco, you can argue that about any thing really: the perfect car, the perfect home, the perfect wife... many people spend their lives chasing these things and are never satisfied. In relation to jackets, I'm sure that if I was only allowed one I'd pretty soon work out the keeper and learn to live with that choice.

yeah, when you have it for some time and frequently use it, you'll grow feeling toward it, you'll see beyond the jacket's shape or fit or who made it or from what hide or how much or little you spent money on it, you'll love it because its yours, feeling is subjective anyway.
but you'll only grow such attachment if you have either only one or a very few number of it.

Well, here I can't equate a jacket to my wife or home but hey, we're all different.

I believe the idea of "restricting to only one" in whatever goods has its roots in the necessity to reasonably economize with limited budget. Buying even only just one 1000 Dollar jacket is always irrational and unreasonable, so as I see it, it does not matter whether you buy one or five such jackets. Buying it/them is either way unreasonable and the idea of restricting to only one does not apply because if you went through with the thought of that, you wouldnt even buy one leather jacket. It's a decadence thing really.

As for myself I have accepted this and hence do not even try to justify my purchases. I do not restrict to one because one jacket won't cover all situations. However I try to put jackets in different categories and try to own only "one of each style/for each situation".

Regarding these jackets I agree with navetsea, you can love them all the same as you would love only one, if you actually wear them each of them long enough to grow an attachment. So I guess there's a limit at some point where you own too many to grow an attachment to them and then you wouldnt be able to feel the love the owner of only one jacket feels.
