i have a great love of physics great and small, and i have never been able to understand religion, but i expect this tidbit may be interesting to you, Benny Holiday. a bit of trivia, perhaps.

the oldest planet i know about is nicknamed the Genesis Planet. it's a bit over seven thousand light years away, in M4. it's a gas giant approximately thirteen billion years old, which means it became less than one billion years after the universe did.

Thanks for the link, Melankomas

I enjoy physics and astronomy too, so I enjoyed reading that article.

Koop's just worried that if Martians did take over the world, after they disintegrated his body they'd punch holes in his beloved fedoras for their antennae to poke through. lol

do you suppose it would be objectionable to start a thread on physics? the MOND versus Dark Matter issue could be seen as Vintage versus Modern physics, if viewed with a liberal eye.

If so, I'm kind of okay with it. :D

We've got a lot of very clever people here at the Lounge, who knows what interesting light they might have to shed on the study of physics as it's progressed over the years? So I think it's a great idea, get that thread rolling!
