Very cool jacket, Monitor - unique but authentic, different enough to deserve a second look. I have always liked the look and the idea of padded elbows and shoulders, but wondered if they would restrict flexibility and movement. What are your observations? BTW,I also dig the sleeve pocket!

Bobj - You know they're there but the jacket is very well made and I haven't noticed any restriction in the movement range. The padding on this jacket is quite thick, though. Not armour thick, but it's substantial. I like the sleeve pocket too but I really dig the two horizontal chest pockets - pocket bags go outwards, all the way toward the sides of the jacket, so plenty of space inside & they're much more accessible than the standard side pockets (or the entirely useless chest pockets). Cool stuff!

Oh Man! Those fit pics look awesome. That is one of the coolest jackets I've ever seen. Why don't I have one of those?

Knowing your taste in jackets, that's a really flattering thing to hear! And it's never too late to get one. New ones are kind of pricey, though...

Thanks, everyone! :D

Wind flap. It's the only part of the jacket with the raw edge exposed. It does seem a bit more pliable than the rest of the jacket, the wind flap does. The back panels are particularly tough.

You inspired me to have a quick look online, you're not kidding the new ones aren't cheap !

Might have to add them to my eBay auto search [emoji13]

The more you wait the worst it's going to get! i paid £470 for my custom dominator in 2013, they are now £775+£45 for the custom sizing option!

Yikes. I remember looking at them back around 2002 and being horrified by the price tag then (around GBP300 - in those days, a vintage example went for GBP200). They're now just a little more expensive than an Aero. Hadn't realised that the price rise had been so sudden in just the last three years, though. That's not far shy of doubled!

Well, waiting time went from 2 to 4 weeks in 2013 to 16 weeks now, so the price rise must be a way of controlling orders!

Oh no..the price of cow and horse is going up!

The Super Phantom was selling around £645 around 2years ago. I almost ended up with it, but the midline rear seam down the back isn't something I can live with.

They have a rail sale for their odd sizes and colours sometimes. Their prices generally only go up every April : /

God almighty, that's quite a leap. Wonder what made them justify it? Business must be blooming in Japan, eh. I could somehow manage the £470 but the current price is seriously out of my budget, at this moment - as is for most people, I'd imagine. Not least of all for the guys and gals that pretty much made the brand what it is. I really would love to own the Dominator, though. It's been on the #1 spot on my jacket wish list for a long time, now.

And I'm really happy to hear all the excellent comments! Thank you! TBH, as this was pretty much a blind purchase, my original plan was actually to sell the jacket because I was convinced everything would be off and the only reason I bought it was because I wanted to see what the LL jackets are like - but now I'm definitely keeping it! I doubt I would get a finer example even if I got a brand new custom one.

Searching eBay for a Lewis leathers jacket is frustrating as all hell. They are all "Lewis era" or "Lewis style" crappy knockoffs!
