Lewis Leathers Super Monza no 445L (ladies) review

In June i went to Lewis Leathers with my girlfriend, she loved the Super Monza but the stock size didn't fit her. I had a sneaky chat with Martin, got a "mock order" done, for future reference.
What she doesn't know is that I came back the next day to order the jacket. She literally has no idea i went back and still talks about getting the money together to go order it herself...
I was originally quoted 16 weeks, but it was ready in 12.
I picked it up yesterday and it is great. I can't comment on the fit yet, as her birthday is in a couple months and the jacket will stay hidden until then, but i am confident in LL and i am sure it will fit great.

The leather is their standard black cow, it is very nice, annoyingly it is nicer than my Dominator, it feels thicker, with a thinner top coat, and is less shiny.
It has a nice smooth waxy touch, a nice grain, and looks like it will age nicely, probably showing more evolution than mine.

Construction wise, the jacket is just like my Dominator, perfect! I cannot find a single dodgy stitch or imperfection, nothing.
Everything is straight, no wavy stitching, no stray needle holes, just 100% perfect.
The padding is very nice, i don't know if they stick a layer of foam in there, but it has a nice soft give to it, without being huge.
I have said it before, but my Dominator is the most perfectly crafted jacket i have seen, and this one is just as good.
Once again, Lewis Leathers Deliver.

Nothing more to say really... I hope it fits, and i hope this means the mall jackets will be retired and never seen again.
Unfortunately no fit pics, but here are a few, they are quite large so feel free to open them in photobucket if you want to zoom in.

Also, here is a link to my Lewis Leathers Dominator:

That jacket looks fantastic, I love all those little details. The leather looks much like vanson, except for all the Vansons imperfections in the leather. Nice, nice, nice. Cannot wait to see fit pictures, just hope she doesnt gain weight with all those dark and cold winter months coming up. :D

Very nice. Lewis are great.... thing I love about them, too, is that even into the late sixties / early 70s, they carried on producing new designs of this quality. They must be relatively unique among the premium brand leather jacket companies we favour in these parts in that they have such an extensive range for ladies, too. I'm a sucker for that bright red lining against black leather; when I specc'ed my Aero Dustbowl, I opted for this combination and it looks great.

Looks great. As you say, the leather looks nicer in these photos than previous Lewis jackets I've seen posted. She's going to be very pleased.

What a beautiful jacket!

I don't know if I can pull this style, but next time I'm in London I want to try one!

She is a lucky girl, please if she agrees, post fit pics when she get it.

very nice detailing, I like the piping along the pockets opening, padding looks cool, and looks like a very soft leather, is it a semi crop jacket?

Thanks guys, honestly, the level of details and the precision in execution is amazing.
If you take into account the complexity of the jacket, it's mad how perfect it is.

Not sure what you mean by Semi Crop, but the stock 40 reached her belt. It's definitely not one of these super short jackets.
This one is a custom sized 40, 1" added in the chest, 3" removed at the waist, and 2" extra in the sleeves.
The leather is definitely soft, but it has some thickness and weight to it. Nothing like the super thin lamb you see on most women's jackets.

Carlos, I knew you were expecting a package from LL but didn't occur to me it was not for you. Having recently visited the LL store, it is nice to see LL receiving some well deserved traction here. Time though for an EARLY birthday present though. OK to keep your girlfriend waiting but not us. ;)

I am honestly struggling not to just give it to her now! I just want to know if it fits!
The 2 month wait is going to be harder for me than it is going to be for her...

Great jacket and it sounds like your girlfriend will be super happy when she sees it. I've owned four of recently made bespoke lewis leathers jackets and a couple of vintage ones.

I can attest to the workmanship on the new jackets, they are perfect, none of the other bespoke leathers come close. The designs are far more complex than the standard cafe racer stuff but everything is neat and not a stitch out of place. One of the things that gets remarked upon is the lack of grain and the sheen or finish to the hides. The lack of grain is largely down to the quality control at lewis, they pick pretty much flawless smooth cow hides that are still thick enough to provide decent riding protection and outlast the owners. The shininess and stiffness of the leather fades after a few weeks of wear and the jackets become really supple with the hues in the creases looking great.

The 40 year old jackets I've owned have still looked incredible which is no mean feat when you see the shape of some of the similarly priced jackets that are less than ten years old that turn up on eBay.

Your girlfriend has got something that will outlast and look far better than a chunk of jewellery. Hope she enjoys it.

oh it's the sleeve that's been made longer, I previously thought of higher than waistline a little bit bolero kind of jacket.
nice
