After a lot of humming and hawing, I have decided that my vintage LEWIS LEATHERS LIGHTNING No. 391 Leather Jacket should go to a new home. I just don’t find the occasion to wear it nearly enough. I picked this up 2 years from a friend who bought it way back in the 80s and who also hardly wore it.

Both of us took exceptionally good care of the jacket. It comes from a smoke-free home. It has been properly stored, treated and conditioned over the years so the leather is in excellent condition. The lining is 100% intact, no rips or wear. Even the cotton size tag which is normally the first thing to go is completely intact.

All zippers work perfectly and have a beautiful aged patina on them. None of the zip pulls are missing and they all run smooth.

It is in the Lightning style from Lewis Leathers. This style was introduced back in 1958 but really got its iconic status in 1970 with punk bands such as the Sex Pistols, Steve Jones and the Clash. More recently this style has been seen on the back of Pharrell Williams. It really is a timeless style.

• Chest, Armpit to Armpit: 56cm
• Back length from base of the collar to hem: 60
• Arm length from shoulder to cuff: 61
• Waist measured across the hem: 48 (you could get a few more cm by adjusting the side adjusters)

All measurement taken with the jacket zipped up and laid flat. Pictures can be provided upon request.
